Default rear end squealing

i used to have this old '76 chevy c20 with the corporate 14 bolt rear end, and i just sold it to my best friend. i had the truck for over 2 years and the entire time i had it the rear end made a semi-loud squealing sound, i never had any problems from it but i never did figure out what it was and he cant either. i was told once that it was because the rear end was crooked and it sat further back on the driver side then it did on the passenger side, but i didnt think that made sense because the tires didnt wear unevenly. i checked the diff. fluid and it was fine and the truck did have air bags on the back. anyone know what the problem might be? thanks

I woud pull the axles and see if their showing signs of wear. Depending on how hard the bolts are, takes 5 mins to pull both shafts. Don't even have to jack the truck up. Something ain't kickin just right, are you sure it was the rearend. I know my dads ol 87 c30 squealed like a **** for over 200,000miles cuz of the trans.

wheel bearing(s), maybe a brake drum dragging slightly on shoes, drum rubbing backing plate, driveshaft carrier bearing if it has one.
