Stereo help
I just replaced a set of 4x6's in the back of my 95 standard cab. I switch in old set of pioneers speakers with a new set. I listen to them for a few days and all of the sudden nothing. I know I didn't do anything wrong on install because the speaker prongs have one bigger then the other which matches up with the wire. So I pulled out the stereo and put in another (which I know works) and the same thing (nothing) The radio works the cd counts down but no sound on any of the 4 speakers.
When I first turn on the stereo the speakers pop 1 time. There are no amps hooked up.
Could there be another wiring connector some where under the dash that could be giving me the trouble?
Thanks for your help

Hi cb1,
Welcome to the Chevy Forums.
Did you try hooking up the old speakers to see if the new ones are alright? My Pioneers took quite a beating before they got stolen, but maybe you pushed them too hard and let the smoke out of them...

Well with the prongs + & - being different size it's not possible to hook them up backwards. I never listen to them that loud any more (since 15 yrs ago). It's wired cause I pulled them out today unplugged them turn on the radio and had sound out of the front. plugged in the new ones and everything seems to be fine now.
