Hello there. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 LT with the towing package but it doesnt have the "trailer brake". Can i just buy the sensor and attach it myself?

the factory integrated controllers are expensive ,only work some times ,and dont show me a good value for the money . i have had a drawtite activator II installed in my 01 2500 hd for 14 years with out a hitch .it all comes down to quality of part's and installation . the after market company's have some good stuff out there .
