i am wanting to put somewhat of a system in my truck i like a lttle thump but rattle the rust off kinda stuff. i was thinking i could fit slim 10 in subs under the seat. but i cant find any slim enough. i already put 2 6.5 speakers in and 2 6x9 in. they worked great til they blew up. i didnt have amp tuned right. i have some 6.5 house subs i can put in. does any body know where i can get 6x9 subs. prferably house subs. or a very slim 10 in sub. thanks

Hi isrummell,

Welcome to the wild world of aftermarket car audio.

(Oh, and welcome to the Chevy Forums, also)

I had a lot of success with onlinecarstereo.com.

I agree with therewolf, onlinecarstereo is great. I put two 1800 watt amps and two 1600 watt 12" Aduiobahn speakers in my truck about 2-3 years ago and they are awesome. I also know that Kenwood makes a slim 10", also I believe Pioneer and JL make slim subwoofers that could be under the seat. I also have a 1981 C10 that I used to have slim truck boxes that went behind the seat with regular size 10" subs from Kenwood. Fit great and sounded nice, nothing to crazy. Hope this helps.

well pending on your budget... jl is top of the line but expensive. the pioneer slims are single voice coil. i have a pair of 12" fosgates in my truck and they thump pretty hard. rockford fosgate also makes 10" slimmies that are only 3 5/16 mounting depth. check them out. p3sd12 somethin like that by fosgate

ok well i dont have much dough. i already have a box i can put a 6x9 and a 6.5 speaker in, i have a 6.5 sub, and 2 tweeters. so i really just need a good 6x9 speaker that will throw some bass. i had that setup before but had my amp too high and blew them up
