Right, I have a dark brown one, a light grey one, and a black one with a white stripe.

Would it be too much to ask for you to unclip the fuse box, and take a photo of the underneath to show how that loom goes into the box? I believe it's just a case of undoing 4 bolts on some bracing, and the box should unclip. My loom looks exactly identical to one you have, and if my plug was plugged into the fuse box, where I believe it needs to be, it would not be visable without removing the fuse box.

I may be able to do that at a later date.

the wiring diagram shows each and every splice, connector and junction point that would be present on the car and each pin for each connector. If there was a connector it would be on the diagram.
It shows no connectors at that point.

Only one of the wires from the 4wd system goes into the underhood fuse box.

Thanks for all your help. I've solved the problem. The transfer case harness is the original harness, the main harness in the engine bay is from the Tahoe, which was two wheel drive. The transfer case harness should plug into main harness, but, as it was 2 wheel drive, it doesn't have anywhere for it to plug into. Have ran a live wire to the live wire on the plug, 4 wheel drive now works exactly as it should, only the lamp on the dash doesn't illuminate. I can sort that out at a later date. Thanks again.
