Default 01' 1500 engine trouble, advise needed...

Ok guys, here is the deal. I have a 01 Silverado 1500 4x4 with the 5.3L engine. It has about 150k mile on it and been a great truck so far.
Took it for a trip this last weekend and it laid down on me, As I was on my way home - running about 70mph the engine died, I pulled it over and it wouldnt start just kept cranking.
I took a shot, and replaced the alternator on the side of the road and it started right up and ran fine - for about 10 minutes. same thing this time, I thought possibly it was the battery pulling the thing down - replaced it, it started and ran about 10 minutes more, Same thing.
Not knowing what else to try, gave up and towed it back home.
once I got it home I took it straight to Autozone to see if any codes were present.
Once there it started and ran for a while then died, no codes before or after.
Since then I have check the fuel pressure which is fine, while running and after it dies.
The issue seem to only be present when the engine warms up, after I let it set for a while ( installing the Alt and battery) it fires right up and runs smooth but eventually dies 10-15 minutes after start.
when the engine is hot, it just cranks over and over.

So what Im sure of is... the alternator and battery are good, and my fuel system seems ok. The ECM is not posting any codes

I think im going to check the crank sensor next, but wouldnt that throw a code?

Thanks for any help

f4u5t,

I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL and it appears to have the same problem. Did it end up being the crank sensor?

It was the crank sensor, paid a shop $140 to change it and its been fine ever since.
They said it was fairly common, and they only fail when they heat up....
