'02 Silverado Transmission problem
I am the original owner of a 2002, 1500 Silverado Z71. I'm just curious if there are known issues with the transmissions in these particular trucks. At about 45k miles the transmission had to be rebuilt, because out of the blue it would not shift out of first. At that time it was under warranty so it wasn't so painful.
Now I have a similar situation at 89k miles. I was driving down the highway at about 60 MPH, went to pass someone and all of the sudden there was nothing there, buried the tac, like it was in neutral. So, all I have now is 1st, 2nd and reverse.
Any thoughts? Should I expect to have to have this transmission rebuilt every 45k miles?
