'03 Silverado Cluster Replacement issue
So I am currently undergoing the process of changing out my cluster due to the old one shorting out and throwing smoke. That being said, I know that in order to order a new cluster, the mileage, VIN, and engine hours has to be given to the supplier to ensure the new cluster shows the correct mileage. However, the circuit board on the old one is fried and does not turn on, does anyone know what i can do so that i cant be penalized by the DMV for altering mileage? Or if there's an alternate way to get the mileage at least?
Thanks!
Thanks!
you can get the mileage with a scantool in most cases, otherwise you can just guess or start at 0 as long as you put a sticker/label on the door jamb stating that the odometer isn't displaying the accurate mileage you should be fine, GM has a bulletin about it I remember seeing a while back
