Default 05 Silverado 1500 Oil Dissapearing...

I change my oil every 3000. I run mobil 1 5w30 fully synthetic motor oil. Im 1800 miles in since my last oil change when my check oil light came on. Checked the dipstick, there was barely any oil on the dipstick, about half a penny from the bottom of the dipstick. Not quite sure what is going on, this has been getting progressively worse since I bought the truck but hasnt really been a major issue. There are no leaks, and do not smell burning oil nor does anyone else who stands around or rides in my truck. Pretty stumped here...any ideas???

Are you getting whitish exhaust? It could be burning it slowly so there is no odor and barely noticeable. Check the radiator for oil traces.

It is burning it period. The article below will explain why you do not smell it or see it.

Pat Goss: Ask The Expert

Most manufactures allow for 1 quart per 1000 miles even though that is BS

You have couple of options to possibly slow down and even stop burning. Find a shop that has the newest BG oil flush machine and chemical ( BG Findashop - Search for an authorized BG service center near you! ) I have seen this alone stop oil burning by itself. Stop using the synthetic oil it is going out the tail pipe anyways. The molecules are smaller so it get to where it is burning from faster. Synthetic oil burns faster because of that.
