So my Girlfriend is the owner of an 05 Silverado 4x4 with a 4L60E.

The issue is that sometimes the tranny will throw a code and begin to shift very hard. And this only happens Maybe every 6 months give or take. When code is off all i notice is a little clunk into second. which is inconsistant as well. Sometimes loudish sometimes barely noticeable.

She recently had it tested, Ill have to get what ever results were found and post them later, and they pulled the pan and filter and said they found metal shavings in both. Not shure how much or what they looked like ill have to check the filter as we kept it.

They told her she will need 3k for when it inevitably dies.

Any input on this issue would be great. Thanks!!

 

First order of business is to clear all the codes. Drive it until it sets again and THEN read the codes.

Let us know what you find after tearing that filter open.....or a picture would be better.
