well I have a 99 and mine does the same thing. There is good news and there is bad news. Bad news is there are no real quick fixes and nothing you can really do to quick fix it (besides rebuilding). Oh yeah you have a 4l60e transmission and believe it or not it's only a 4 speed overdrive transmission, not a six speed. They started making six speeds in 07. Good news is that mine has done for about 2 and half years and I tow boats and trailers and have put about 27000 miles on it and it still holding together. So, yes your transmission is slipping and there is no quick fix but that transmission will stick together for awhile longer. I'm at 208000 miles and its still holding together

Thanks for all the info! This is the most to-the-point answer I've gotten so far and I've been researching for a few months! Definitely eases my mind that it will hold together for awhile longer, even though it sounds bad 'cause of my loud exhaust haha. Will be nice to know I probably have some time to save up for a new tranny and I can just wait until it goes out. Again thanks so much for your post!!

Hey I had one more question I thought of for you, if you have a minute. I was wondering how long is the interval between slips when your transmission is slipping in fourth gear? For me it's pretty constant, just wondering if that is the same way with yours. Thanks a million!!
