Hey guys, I just have a question about my truck. It is a 06 z71 with a 5.3 vin code B. Ok as i go down the road and kick it into passing gear i hear the knocking noise it only happens when it goes into passing gear. It does not do it anytime else. I can not fig it out at all its not my Uv joints or a exhaust leak i narrowed it down that far. Can someone help me please. Thank you. oh yeah it has 85000 miles and has always had the oil changed reg and everything else i have babied it.

 

drive it for 20 or so min then get under it and check the U joint caps about the size of a nickle if on or more is warmer than the rest - to hot, that is your culprit.
