I have a 2008 Silverado, LT, 2WD, 5.3L. I just had my 3rd throttle body go out, the truck has 120,000 miles on it. The orginal went out around 95,000 miles, the replacement for that one only lasted about 1 day(it was reving the truck up almost the point of blowing it up), and now the replacement for the replacement is out. This time its not covered under the warranty. This is just absolutely ridiculous! I can't believe that a parts supplier could have this kind of quality issues.
There are no other issues that can be causing this. The one that just went out, the baffle inside the throttle body was rattling around and making a horrible knocking noise until it finally just went out completely.
Has anyone else had issues like this?
The truck has been a great truck, the engine is strong, the transmission has its querks but has also been strong. I just can't understand how any part on a newer truck like this could fail that often. These things are supposed to be built to last now, but its hard to make them last when you have a buy the same part every 20,000 miles.

 

I believe I would find a different source.

 

I'm new to the forum. I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body Style. Check Engine Light came on and I replaced the throttle body/sensor. The light turned off for a few days and came back on. I then switched it out and the light is still on. The code at Autozone is still reading throttle body sensor. What else should I check or could this be. Thanks for any help.
