i have a 86 chevy silverado flatbed with the 6.2 deisel engen some times when u go to start it up the glow plug light doesnt come on and wont start anyone got any ideas why?

If it comes on sometime but not others start by checking all the connections on your controller and inhibit switch. Chances are from and age and vibration you just have a loose plug somewhere. The glow plug controller is on the intake manifold next to where the distributor would be in a gas burner. One large 4 pin connector and two LARGE wires on it. The inhibit switch is located on the passenger side cylinder head behind the #8 injector. If everything is tight, check your battery connections, glows pull A LOT of amps to light up. If that dont work get you a Haynes Diesel manual, there are pages of wiring and trouble shooting on glow plugs in it. Mike
