Exclamation 1988 Chev 1500 305 5.0L Starting Issues

Hello There,

I know my truck is a GMC & not a Chevrolet but there is not as much support on the GMC forums so I am hoping I fair better here.

On my 88 GMC I have a bit of a starting issue, it started last weekend & thought nothing of it, but it happened this previous weekend again so I am getting a bit concerned.

When the truck sits a day or 2 I go to start it it catches & quits instantly, that happened the 1 time

The 2nd time it took me 3 times to get it going & I had to give it some gas to make it catch, now during the week its fine, just on the weekends when it sits, i don't know if its anything to do with the cool temperatures or what.

I checked the Fuel lines there like new no cracks, no holes, no leaks, not sure how old the fuel filter is, as well as the injectors.

Thanks Guys

Could be fuel or electrical, use this chart to start troubleshooting.

Okay I Changed The Fuel Filter & a Section On The Fuel Line, Changed Dis Cap, Rotor, Wires & Plugs & It Still Starts Weird Only On Some Days Tho. Today It Started Rough To Get it going yesterday started fine. I Notice when I wait 10 - 15 Seconds with key in run postion it starts better than going to crank instantly could this be a pressure issue?

I Found A Solution If I Wait 10 Seconds & Push On The Gas a Little While Starting, It Starts With Ease Why would that be?
