Default 1990 Silverado

I just bought a 1990 Silverado, and have big plans to restore it...I want it as original (looking) as I can get it; I've started looking at LMC catalogs but I'm wondering if there are any other companies, or better companies to look into? Also it looks like on of my bigger problems will be the radio - previous owner had an after market stereo installed in that little cubby underneath the middle air vents, and tore the original out...therefore the stereo sticks out too far and there's a gaping hole where the original was - doesn't look good. I was hoping LMC had some kind of replacement like they do for the older trucks, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Any ideas, or can someone point me in the right direction? Do Chevy dealers still sell these radios? Thanks.

I just changed the radio in my '95, I switched the tape player with a oem cd player. I bought mine EBAY, you might try there.

I have a 1994 that has an aftermarket stereo in it. You should be able to find a panel or cubbie like me truck has to take the place of the factory radio and a panel that goes in the center of the dash where the middle heater vents are. Here are pics of mine. Check with crutchfield here is a link

buddy you can just go to like wal-mart or a communications center and buy a new piece that comes with the vents and all for like 15$ or 20$ bucks thats what i did in my 1990 chevy. all i did to it was paint it to match my interior cause most of the time it comes black.

Mohawk3,
I have the original radio and clock display from a 92 GMC Sierra. Could be same unit. Also have the plastic peice from the dash. It is a drk blue. It is just collecting dust in my garage. If it might help, let me know at tcollums@nc.rr.com, we will work something out.
