Default 1991 chevy c1500 wont turn to start.

I have 1 91 chevy extended cab c-1500 pickup, 4.3 v-6, 5 speed, 2wd 210,00 miles. this morning my wife drove it to drop our son off at football practice. when she tried to start it, the key would turn to on, but wouldn't go any further. its like the rod in the column is bottoming out. i appreciate any advice on what this might be. this truck has been in the family since day one and is solid as a rock, its just having issues at the moment. thank you...bud

Default Key wont turn

Make sure wheel is not cramped , or up against a curb. Use a fair amount of pressure to turn wheel an inch or so and see if it works.
