Hi I have a 1993 chevy C1500 2WD 5.7L "350" that almost stalls when you hit the gas from a stop, but it seems to run fine as long as the rpm's dont drop below 1,500 I took it to a machanic and he said it was the pickup coil which I have now changed along with the fuel pump, fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, and the throttle module on the side of the distributor. There has been no change in the problem although it does seem to come and go on its own one day it will be fine and the next I can hardly drive it. PLEASE HELP.........

 

sounds to me like vacuum leak.

 

Well that sound more accurate than what other people have said. So do you know how would I test the vacuum system?

 

maybe clean erg valve or make sure you don't have to replace it first before checking for leaks.

 

I use WD-40 with it running, and hit vacuum connections or palces I suspect it could have a leak. If you hear the engine increase in rpm when you spray an area, that is where you have a leak. The egr valve cleaning is also a good idea.

 

Do not use WD-40 go get Carb cleaner or ethanol spray
he works on fords and can't even take a break off a Chevy lol
