Unhappy 1994 C1500 5.7 Hesitation Please Help!

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum. I have a 1994 C1500 Z71 with an AT and 5.7. I drive it about once a week for 20-30 miles and always keep at least half a tank of gas in it. For the past month or so it starts up fine and I drive about two to three miles through a residential area and I am hesitating to the point the engine almost stalls at take off after I come to a stop sign. It will do this off and on for about 10-15 minutes then it seems to stop after it has warmed up. I replaced the PCV valve and fuel filter after reading some Q&A on similar situation on the internet but there has been no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

any idea the last time your EGR valve was replaced? Probably EGR or IAC related, checking fuel pressure never hurts

I've checked all of the vacuum lines and no leaks. I don't know if the egr valve has been changed. How can I test it to see if it's working?

its not a 100% test but you could unplug the vacuum line from the valve and drive it a block or 2, if it drives fine then its a good chance the valve is bad. Otherwise you'll need to get a hold of atleast a hand vacuum pump

I unhooked the vacuum line to the egr valve and drove to the hardware store this morning. Same story. At about 1.5-2 miles it hesitated while driving about 25 mph and upon leaving the stop sign at the end of my development it hesitates and almost stalls. I continue on with a jerk-jerk for about .25 miles then it runs fine another 3-5 miles to the store and back.

Did you check your fuel pressure And is it shifting ok? with these trucks the fuel pump is often the problem when mine wasnt working right it would bog down alot if you stopped or came to a hill and wouldnt accelerate very fast. if you havent had any problems with the pump or havent replaced it id check that out. i also didnt get a single code when my pump was messed up i had to have it tested and that was it. really the only differance i see as that yours starts up fine i had to turn my key to the just on and pump the gas to get it to start
