Hesitate to tell ya this as it's kinda dangerous unless you have the truck up on a lift.

In TWO WHEEL DRIVE, start the truck and let it idle in drive. Go underneith the truck and push in on the round servo cover on the passenger side of the transmission with a long bar or large screwdriver.....push it in as far as it will go ('bout 1/2 inch).

You should hear/notice the truck change to second gear, if you don't, transmission has to come out.

I tried this and it pushes in easy with it not running but when it is in drive it wont move. I am prying against the exhaust that is pretty rusty and can't really get a good bite on it. Is it supposed to be that hard when it is running? If so I will have to set up a better pry point.

Humor me,

Put the selector lever down in manual first and try it again. When you push in on the cover, it should easily push in and shift to 2nd.

Then, put the selector lever in manual 2nd. See if that cover is hard to push at that point.

Ok I did exactly what you said and while in first it pushed in easy but it did not sound like it shifted and when we put it in second it would not push in at all. What do you think?
