1996 Silverado Coolant Leak
I have a 96 Z-71 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pick-up 350 (5.7) Automatic 4X4. I have a coolant leak that I can not find. I have changed the water pump and checked allthe hoses. The leak is coming from the front left side of the motor behind theA/C compressor mount. I have done a compression check and all the cylinders on that side range from 155-175 lbs. When I rev the motor I can see coolant blowing from behind the compressor mount. I have no water in my oil.
Any help is appriciated. Thanks in advance.

rev the engine when your under the hood and look for it. might be your head gasket or something like that.
or you could get a pump for coolent checks and pump the system to what ever the cap says (IE 16 psi). then put your ear around the engine and listen for a hissing sound

RE: 1996 Silverado Coolant Leak
The 5.7 Liter is known to have problems with the intake gaskets. I've already had to change mine (1999). My engine ran fine just kept loosing antifreeze and it would run down the block and it took me a while to find where it was coming from. After changing the intake gasket it was fixed.
