got a Silverado that doesn't want to start sometimes. wanted to get some ideas first before I went off replacing things. to get a better idea this started in October got the truck in august. it started out when I would start the truck it would just click once then I would take the key out and put it back in and it would start right up. now it takes me disconnecting the battery and hooking it back up and it starts right up. ive done quite a bit of research and was thinking it was the security system? I would have to bypass it by putting a resister in?

Checked the battery cables they were loose and corroded. Also the battery was dead. I had orileys charge the battery and bought new battery screws it starts fine then a few days latter the battery is dead again. What would cause a battery to die?

Most likely a bad alternator but it could also be a bad connection with the battery cables.Hook a volt meter up to your battery and see what voltage you have when the truck is running,it should be around 14.5 volts at 1500 rpm.If you do not see that number it is your alternator.
