My girlfriend drove my truck and said it was running bad at 60mph. I took it for a road test and thought at first it might be the transmission. But after we got back home i put it in park and revved the engine and could not get the engine to run any faster then 2300-2500 RPM. The engine runs fine below 2300 RPM. I can push the accelerator to the floor but the engine will not run any faster. It just cuts out badly. I have no idea what is wrong with it. I have hope that someone on here can give me some advice. The engine has 150k miles on it.
I appreciate any help i can get and i thank you in advance for your time.

well, best first step is to check error codes at any parts store.

Thanks for your response. I have to return a motorcycle battery to the local parts store so i'll see if they can check it out for me.

This happened to my friend who has a 1994 2 door Yukon. He couldn't get above 2500 rpms and noticed the problem on the freeway. He took it to a mechanic because he thought the transmission was slipping, but it turned out to just be the fuel filter, a cheap and easy fix.
