Default 1998 silverado makes chirping noise when air is on

Hey guys, in my truck (1998 Silverado) there is a very obnoxious chirping noise when the heater/vent/ ac is on. It only happens when it is on the medium or 3rd highest setting, and sometimes when on low. I dont think it ever happens when it is on the hi setting. It is not a big problem, just very annoying! It sounds like it is coming from on the passenger side somewhere behind/below the dash.

If anyone knows how to stop this noise from occuring, I would be very happy to hear a solution.

It's coming from your blower motor, my 95 does it when it's cold out but usually only on low speed. I doubt the motor can be oiled so you may need to replace it.

You could remove the blower motor and spray it with lubricant but it will not last long. As MudManic said you should replace it.

Unfortunately almost all electric motors now come with permanently lubricated bearings, so as MDTAHOE said, spraying it may help for a little while but not for long.

Less than $100 probably less than $50. Very easy to replace. Pull the shield down under passenger side of dash if it has one(most likely held on by 7mm bolts). You will see the motor which is held in by three bolts.
