My Silverado leaks coolant and oil. I need to add coolant about every three weeks and oil about every 3K miles. The truck runs fine but I need to fix this issue. Has anyone had this problem ? What is it and how do I fix the problem ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Intake gaskets are very common w/ leaking on these motors, You can try the stop-leak stuff from autozone it may help other than that you need to get it looked @

Stop leak will also plug up your heater core first then your radiator, I wouldn't use it unless you dont plan on keeping it. I had a coolant in the oil issue and could tell by looking at the oil fill tube and under the cap you could see all this condensation and water droplets. I ended up replacing my head gasket that is a common problem for the 5.3's though.
I dont think adding oil every 3000 miles is a problem I had a van and added a quart about every 2-3 months it never burnt oil had 40,000 miles on it when we bought it and we put 250,000 before giving it away and the oil consumption was the same through out the time we owned it. Unless you see leaks on the ground you might not have a problem you should be concern with. You can check your plugs and see if any cylinders are burning oil.

The bad intake gaskets could be quilty for the lose of both oil and antifreeze.
Stop Leak additives are like adding tapioca. The particles swell up, float and around until they find a spot to wedge into.
Such as a pin hole, as well as any other hole that is small enough to capurture the blob of stop leak.
It does not know which holes it is to plug up or leave open.
