I have an o1 LeSabre Limited with 99K on it. Gas gauge only works when the tank is more then half full with gas. When the tank is less then half full the gas gauge goes haywire. I am guessing that it is the sending unit that is on the fritz and I am wondering if that is an easy fix or a dealer thing. I can do basic repairs but not too hip on dealing with something like removal of the gas tank. What am I looking at for parts and labor at a shop? Not a problem to keep the tank full when I drive it but worried the wife will ignore the missed readings and run it dry. Thanks for the help.
