Default 2002 Z71 W/ 5.3L

Alright I have readsome threads about wanting toget better fuel economy. Alot of products out there don't work as intended but some have been dyno proven. Here is my scenario... I am getting about 15 miles-gallon consistantly in my truck, but with a baby on the wayI want to try to get better fuel economy and save some cash in the long run. I know I will have to spend my well earned cash to save some but what can you do. I have a limited budget and time frame. I have $425. Would it be more cost effective to get a programmer ie. Triple dogor anyone'srecommendations... or Cold air intake and cat back exhaust. If I get a cold air intake, I have been researching the S&B CAI, but what I don't know about is... how loud is it? If I am spending this much money I wanna hear it along with reap the benefits of getting better mileage. Same as with the exhaust...I have a guy that does excellentexhaust work and he is cheap I can get a custom made cat back system for $150 approx. What would be better (CAI and Exhaust) or (Programmer)? Thanks, Garrett

My S&B makes only a little noise, but it made the exhaust sound much deeper. But I also gain 1-3 mpg by adding both the CAI and exhaust to my truck. Hopefully someone will chime in about the tuner idea.

About the only other sysytem that would be comparable to S&B would be Volant. Most of the others won't have the filter housing like S&B and Volant.
