2003 Instrument cluster light replacement
Ok I did the total stepper motor replacement.
But I still have two problems to fix.
1) I sometimes experience no gauges, idiot lights or illumination on startup and have to tap lightly on guage bezel for them to start working.
2) Some of the lights on guage cluster, as well as 4wd selector and heater control are not working.
I obviously have either a loose ground or power connection to the cluster but does anyone have a plug pinout that I could use to check?
I also have read that the bulbs in the cluster are soldered in but have not found out what exactly they are and where to get them!
Can the bulbs in the 4wd selector be changed (soldered in) and the heater control?
Any help appreciated!

Hi Jim,
Your cluster bulbs are indeed soldered directly to your circuit board and are held in place with small blue bulb bases. You can simply pry them off and solder on new bulbs which are available on ebay. I have several in stock as well and can send you some if you like. You can get me easiest at fred@drspeedometer.com
I believe the 4x4 selector and the heater control use the same bulbs and follow the same basic procedure for replacing them.
Email me if you need pics of the bulbs or any other information.
Thanks,
Fred
