Default 2003 Silverado 1500 v6 won't start

Hello, everyone.

I have just started helping my uncle with his truck which is a 2003 Silverado v6. These past 6 months he has had trouble starting his vehicle sometimes. I just replaced his fuel filter which had never been replaced and I know it has quite a few miles on it.

He took it to the dealership thinking it was something to do with the security light on the truck, but the dealership said the vehicle started fine for them and couldn't find any problems. They tested the fuel pump and said nothing was wrong with it.

We charged the battery after draining it to much and not getting the truck to start, and the battery is brand new. I'm thinking the fuel system is clogged up; maybe the fuel injectors. I was hoping the truck would start, so I could run some seafoam through the system. Also, the truck sounds like it wants to start, but just won't turn over.

Sorry for the long post. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

West

have you checked fuel pressure i beleive it should run around 55 psi. you may need to cycle the ignition or key 2-3 time to get a good read
