I have a 2004 Z71 crew cab that when you turn the key off and take it out the interior lights and radio stay on. The only to turn them off to to unhook the battery cable. Any thoughts

 

The interior lights have a switch on the dash to turn them on and off. Did you try that? The switch could be bad. The radio on my truck stays on for about 15-20 minutes after key is removed or it will turn off if the door is opened. Has anybody done any wiring or any type of work in the dash where the radio is? Sounds like something was changed or there is a short in the power wire to the radio.

 

tried the light switch in both position and opening an the door will not turn the radio off. after you open and close the door the radio and lights are still on

 

Try closeing and reopening the door if that don't work try disconecting the switch in the door Hannah.it should just be a little black push switch.had the same problem on my 05 z71 and a little hundai car I had. If that works just replace the bad switch. Also do u have an aftermarket head unit?
