Default 2004 Silverado 1500 - Looking For More Height

Hey everyone,

I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab with 265/70/17's tires. Right now the torsion bars are cranked so the truck sits level. I am looking for ways to raise the truck up a bit so it sits a little higher, but I absolutely can't afford to put bigger tires on it. My 265's are only a year old and have good tread left, so it's just not an option. (Plus 285's are so much more expensive it's ridiculous...)

Anyways, does anyone have any ideas? I have been thinking about lift kits, but I don't want the truck to look stupid with 265's. I am not looking for a huge lift, just something minor that will make the truck sit a little higher than it does currently.

Would a small lift look okay with my tires? What about a leveling kit? Would I get any more height than I have now with the cranked torsion bars? Thanks!

A levelin kit won't look bad..it'll make your ride more stiff that it is already and you'll get like and inch more height out of it. If you're not completely opposed look at zone's 1.5" body lift. It was the perfect extra height I needed for my leveled silvy

Thanks for the reply country. I keep going back and forth on the idea of getting a leveling kit with 3 inch rear blocks to get an extra inch of lift. I just can't decide if it would be worth the money for one extra inch. I mean, would it be that noticeable? If it ends up looking pretty much like it does now, than why bother? Man, I really wish 285's didn't cost so much. Even if I bit the bullet someday and upgraded to bigger tires I would then be forced to spend more every time I get new tires unless I wanted to downgrade back to 265's...

I wouldn't do the levelin kit and 3" block...I've learned the hard way. You end up havin to buy front end parts fast! I'd do that 1.5" body lift honestly. It sounds perfect for what you're lookin for. Whats the full size of the 265s you're runnin? I ran a 285/75/16 with a levelin kit for a while and it looked pretty good. I think a 285/70/17 would really fill up your fenders with a 1.5" body on top of the cranked keys you have now. Look around on Craigslist for some bigger tires. There's deals out there just gotta find em
