Default 2004 Silverado DIC problem

Hey everyone, new to the site. Just this morning when I start my truck, the driver information center said language. and would cycle through the english, spanish, and french options on its own. None of the buttons on the steering wheel can get off of this display. If anyone has had this problem before or knows of a possible solution any help would be appreciated.

When I first read the title I immediately thought Viagra and wrong forum... anyway.
Have you tried using the odometer reset button? Do you have steering wheel controls?

I guess I could have spelled it out in the title to avoid the confusion. Anyway, I do have the steering wheel controls but none of the control buttons will do anything. The top buttons like the volume and seek buttons work fine but the others do not do anything.

Default Resolution?

My 2004 started doing the same thing this morning—switching between languages, but the steering wheel buttons don’t work. I realize this was posted 10 years ago, but how did you fix it?

Default 2006 Tahoe Z71

My 2006 Tahoe is doing the same thing. If anyone has any answers, I'd love to hear them.

Default You might try this

I found this on another forum. Haven’t tried it myself yet, but it makes sense to me.

https://www.silveradosierra.com/elec...sue-t6298.html

“Here's what you need to do to reset the cluster:
1. Disconnect battery terminal
2. Unplug electrical connector on the back of the cluster
3. Re-connect the electrical connector on the back of the cluster
4. Re-connect battery terminal

It should now be in the default state. Of course, this only addresses the language scrolling issue. Remember, you have to do EVERY step in the previous procedure. I know a lot of people have disconnected their batteries thinking it would reset it; I have. The combination above seems to work. Of course, I'll update this thread if something changes and the fix doesn't keep, but so far so good...”

Default tried to no avail.

I followed the directions from the other forum. Seemed fairly simple. Disconnect battery terminal, disconnect cluster, reconnect cluster, reconnect battery terminal. Still scrolling through languages. I noticed that the guy who fixed the problem said he did not have the DIC version. Mine is DIC. Could that make a difference. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help. Your effort does not go unnoticed.
