2004 Silverado Heating issue

Periodically my truck blows full heat despite being in ac or temp selector set to its cold setting. engine temp seems to be normal when this happens. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be?? could this be a engine temp sensor issue? or is it perhaps just an issue with the climate control console?? note this is a dual zone climate control console, and it only blows hot air out one side when this happens.

I had that same thing on an '03. Seems like one of the air doors in the heater box broke it's pivot and got bound up. When that happened the door motor went over-center and then no control over heat settings. Result is full hot on that side. Dealer glued my pivot peg, reset the door motor stops with tech2, (think it was tech2) and all was well. Hope this helps.

Oops, forgot 1 important step. The door motor must be removed if it hasn't been already. Take out the screws holding a rectangular shaped cover on. Inside is some linkage that will go over-center when the heater box door messes up. This linkage must be recentered to work again. Otherwise the tech 2 will think the motor is bad.
Good luck!
Good luck!
