Default 2004 Silverado...Question about lights

Hi,
New Here. Glad to join you guys.
My son just purchased a nice 2004 Silverado. My question is about the front lights. The innermost lower lights have bulbs, but I don't know what they are for or how to turn them on. What are these lights? (I have replaced bulbs and checked fuses)
Thanks for your help.

I have a 2004 Silverado myself, so I can comment on this. The "inner" lights adjacent to the directional signals are your daytime running lights. They should turn on when you start the truck - or when you put the transmission into gear.

If you have a key fob, pushing the "unlock" button will cause them to turn on - along with your backup lights. They'll stay illuminated for about twenty seconds or so.

To turn them off, just turn your headlight switch far to the left and then release it.

OK, thanks. I'll try that. Maybe previous owner bypassed them as I haven't seen them on yet.
