Anyone know for sure what comes stock for shocks on a 2005 Z71 Ext cab?

 

Are you the original owner? If not, the only way to be sure would be to look, anyways. Are you intent on replacing the shocks with the originals? Or what's on there now?

They were using Bilsteins for awhile, but the RPO Z71 merely designates -"Chassis package - offroad".From time to time, that "package" changes a little, also.

 

I'm the owner but still can't tell what they are. They are red with black boots. I want to know what they are cuz I don't want them again.

 

Is there some sort of marking or # on them that I can look at to determine brand/model?

 

it's possible they are an edelbrock shock. those are red. not for certain tho. if you can, pull one off and check for numbers, name.

 

Well, I took a good look at them and can't find anything that would tell me what they are. Oh well.

Chevy parts said if they are Bilstein's or something it will usually say so, but all it showed for my vin was a AC Delco part#. I've heard some say they might be Tennoco(Monro parent co.).
