2006 W/T - Fuel Pump?
I have a 2006 Chevy W/T that ran fine Tuesday when I parked it, but won't start now... I got a code a few weeks ago, but it was for a vacuum leak.
The truck ran fine when I came home from work on Tuesday. We went out of town for a funeral until yesterday and then it would not start. It sat for 4 days, but it turns over just fine. It will catch and "run" for a second but that's it. I can hear the pump running when I turn the key, but I have no idea what kind of pressure it has.
I have the infamous fuel gauge issue as well, it runs out at an 8th of a tank with no warning. So, I keep the truck at a quarter tank. Just to be sure, I put 2 gallons of gas in the tank. It "ran" for a second or two several times.
I have an extended cab, long bed truck and it appears the fuel pump is around $450! So, I am looking for other things to check first. I do not have any sophisticated test equipment.
I have changed an in tank fuel pump on my 2000 Trailblazer about 5 years ago though... Do NOT get a cheap unit! You will be doing it again, trust me!
Any thoughts?

As you suspect,I would suspect the Fuel pump as well.
Tilt the bed up sideways to close to a 45* angle to access it.Loosen the bed bolts on the low side but don't remove.
I located a AC Delco pump for less than $200 bucks online.Shop around for a better deal.

Thanks Motorcat! I had not thought about tilting the bed. I had considered removing it, but figured lowering the gas tank would be easier. I will definitely look online for better pricing.
Thanks again,
