Hey there guys, I want to know if anyone has heard of or had a tranny drop at less than 82,000 miles? I was driving in traffic the other day and stepped on it to get around another car. Tranny shifted down, then clunk clunk straight into neutral. I could only put it in 1st and reverse afterwards.My stats2006 Crew Cab Silverado 15005.3L V-8 Z-7181,xxx milesI have babied this truck, bought it with 40 miles on it, regular scheduled maintenance, oil every 3000, and no signs of distress before this happened. I do do some light towing, but have never come close to the max. Most of the miles on this truck are all highway. The dealership said the tranny is shot. The final drive tore out and completely destroyed the tranny.Seriously like a rock? Give me a break.

 

my dads 06 we bought it used.the mileage was at 26k or so... less then 3k miles later it started slipping real bad.. we got it replaced by the warrenty..

edit: and the new slogan is "chevy runs deep" lol

 

Is this a common thing for the 06 model year?

 

that im not sure of.. after we bought the truck my dad 90% of the driving on it.. and he babied it and i mean not even going over 65 mph..i did get on it a few times.. nothing too bad... hopfully comebody chimes in and can tell you what you need
