2007 2500 HD / XM RADIO
Hello - I need a little help on this one too I have a stereo that i believe is XM Ready, but doesn't have the module from GM. When i press the CAT button (above the eject button) on the stereo it sayssomething like "XM SERVICE ONLY" So i can't figure out how to display radio identification number. If I had the module - would it be installed behind the glove compartment ?
If i don't have the module - i'm sure they run the feed, i have the antenna for the onstar, and i believe that has the intergrated xm radio antenna inside of it as well - as i don't want to add any antenna's to the truck if there is one available. Where would the antenna drop location be at if there isn't a module ?
Thanks for everyones help.

never seen the antenna wire dropped all the way down if the xm isnt there not too sure if its even still in the onstar when the truck isnt equiped but yes if it is there it would be behind the glovebox
If the truck is not built with XM, then thereis no xm antenna, or any related wiring for that matter. GM does sell an accessory kit to add XM. It comes with the XM module, wiring harness to the radio, antenna cables to the roof, and a new Onstar antenna with the XM antenna built into it.
