Default lOW OIL PRESSURE

I've researched this and the bottom line is there is a "Service Bulletin" on this issue from Chevrolet. The problem is electrical. It seems that the main wiring harness which is plastic has tabs that hold the connections together. When plugged into each other some of the tabs tend to break off causing an interuption in the connection. This causes the oil pressure to slowly drop and the warning light to come on. I changed the sending unit which did nothing. Also now when my oil life gets down to 35% or less the light comes on. I change the oil and all is well again. Try to degrease your engine with a good cleaner and spray the connection with something like WD40 to keep the connection clean. Take it to the dealer you bought and they may change out as a courtesy.

Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the truck to verify if it is actually losing oil pressure.

No problem put a new sensor in it & I have pressure. $57.00 & 1 hour later problem solved. My bud at Chevy says they are having either very high pressure or none! Just make sure its got oil, doesn't get hot or start the lifters making noise then it may be the real thing!
