I own a 2007 silverado and want to buy the better radio with the six disk changer off of the internet. Is there anything special I need to do?

 

might have to get it programed at the dealer....otherwise its straight forward

 

I also have a 2007 Silverado. I have a friend that removed his OEM 6 disk cd changer from his 07 Tahoe and gave it to me. Easy install, a couple of screws and it slides right in. I took it to the dealer and they hooked up the computer etc... To make a long story short, the dealer could not get it to work and I had to go back to the old radio. Anyone know of someone in the Baltimore area that has experience with programming the computer to accept a replacement OEM radio?

I put a factory 6 disc I bought off of eBay in my 04 and installed in 10 minutes and plugged in and has worked ever since, no programming needed here.

 

did you find a radio? I have one with the in dash 6 disc changer that came in my 08 silverado, i took it out and added a oem nav
