2008 Battery Gauge
I have a 2008 5.3 crew cab and was wondering what the alternator is suppose to charge at. When I first start it up it jumps up to around 14.9V and then with in a min. it goes down to around 13V. Is this normal or do I need to call the dealership Monday?

yes this is normal gm came out with some fuel saving crap in 2006 that regulates the alternator down to about 13 something whenit senses that it doesnt need to put out full amperage. Anytime headlights are on or windsheild wipers, coolings fans on highit defaults and reguales off of the alternator instead of the computer. My 06 sierra has it its gay it tryed to bybass it no way around it.
