Oh, the shield goes in the Oil Pan, good to know. Does the Shield "Bolt Right In" or is there more to it? Where are these Shields available at?
I was doing some research about this and I thought I read about a shield going into the Left Valve Cover, must have been the incorrect model or engine size..

the shield is a dealer only part and once the pan is removed is an easy install.
if this truck is a 4wd, the front diff must be dropped to remove the oil pan.

Was the AFM engine issue on both the: 5.3l Flex & the 5.3l for 2008?

Would this truck have the AFM 5.3L or not?
