Default 2008 Silverado Smokes

I am new here so hello everyone. I have a 2008 Silverado 1500 Ext. Cab 2WD. It has the 4.8 engine. The truck has 37K miles and has been maintained meticulously since i bought it new. I noticed over this Thanksgiving weekend that after it sat all night, the next morning when i started it, it smoked a fair amount of blue smoke out the exhaust for 4-5 seconds and then cleared up. Can anyone explain to me why a truck with 37K miles is smoking? LOL.

This truck has been nothing but problems since i bought it, it has been in the shop 14-15 times over the last 2 years with everything you can think of except engine problems and it looks like that is now about to change. I have not set an appt. to take it in but it looks like i better. Any ideas are much appreciated.
Thanks,
ZM

From the discription of the problem it sounds like the valve guide seals are worn. Very strange on a truck with that low mileage. You should get it to the dealership asap.

I agree, very very strange. I have never heard of such a thing on a vehicle with this low of miles. I will be taking it in tomorrow i hope
