2009 Silverado 1500 Issues please help
Hello all,
I am hoping to get some insight here, Just today I had my throttle body replaced on my 09 silverado (had the service stabilitrack, service traction control, engine power is reduced problem) After driving the truck home I accidentally "blipped" the gas pedal at idle up to about 2500rpm as I was getting out. The problem now is it never idled back down from 2500rpm after about 10 seconds or so the check engine light cam back on. I finally had to shut my truck off (still the idle never came back down). Re-started truck idled where it should. Then I tried to accelerate back to 2500rpm to see if it would happen again, and sure enough it did. Now I am 90% sure this problem was not there before the throttle body was replaced, although I never tried to rev the engine up before. I discovered this pretty much by total accident. Anyone have any insight on what could be wrong??? Could the sensor on the gas pedal be bad also??
thanks in advance
Lynn

Sounds like something went wrong with the repair from the dealer. An 09 should still be under warranty. I would bring it back.
Let me know how you make out.
Eric
You are probably correct that the problem was not there before the repair was completed. If the TPS sensors and/or the IAC sensor was replaced with the throttle body. I’m not really sure because I have not worked on this exact problem but in most cases if these sensors were replaced, The PCM has to relearn these inputs to operate properly. The PCM would probably relearn these after several drive cycles. However there is a proper procedure to go through that a service tech can do to fix this problem faster. If I were you just take it back to the dealership and they should perform this procedure if that is the problem and it should only take about twenty min. Hope this helps let me know what the problem was for future reference.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
