Not that big of a deal. Some engines burn a little more than others.
Nothing to worry about.
LS series of engines have a very dirty PVC system and most likely oil is being ingested via the intake manifold as they don't have a traditional PVC valve, just a metered orifice so oil can get through much easier.
GM has constantly stated up to a quart between changes is normal.
Just keep an eye on the level.

The accepted rate of oil consumption for engines used in the vehicles referenced is 1 qt in 2000 miles.
This rate only applies to personal use vehicles, under warranty, that are driven in a non-aggressive manner and maintained in accordance with the appropriate maintenance schedule, with less than 36,000 mi, or driven at legal speeds in an unloaded (for trucks) condition.
This rate does not apply to vehicles that are driven in an aggressive manner, at high RPM, high speeds, or in a loaded condition (for trucks). Oil consumption for vehicles driven under these conditions will be more.
Many factors can affect a customer's concern with oil consumption. Driving habits and vehicle maintenance vary from owner to owner.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me privately.

Might not be a big deal.
I've had several vehicles of different makes that have run down to a quart low between oil changes. They only lost the first quart then stayed there until the next oil change. An old mechanic I knew said that some vehicles do that without any problems. Others might have the wrong dipstick in them. Others just don't like being full and get rid of that quart quickly. If it doesn't lose any more oil than that between changes I wouldn't worry about it.
