2010 Silverado radio upgrade failed at dealer
Hi, I purchased a 6/cd changer mp3 radio out of a 07/08 Tahoe part#25782842. Today I went to dealer for a install and reprogram
and was told radio could not be installed.The tech called tech support and
was told radio was a generation 1 and my vehicle requires a generation 3
or newer.So they reinstalled the original AM/FM radio. I ran the TIS2web
calibration before I bought radio and using my 2010 VIN and it list this part#
in the hardware section. I told them I had a copy of ( shawnvw ) GM#
pit4007D that would explain how to build tech2 as a 06 Monty Carlo to
relearn the VIN.They would not consider doing that fix.
My question is if they would have tried shawnvw's fix would it have made a difference? Or is this radio just to old for a 2010?
