2016 Silverado 2500 HD 6.0 Bad battery
Earlier this week , while I was towing my 6x12 enclosed trailer, my transmission shifted going up a steep hill and engine accelerated to about 4500 RPM and lingered there . Shortly after, the yellow engine icon came on. The next morning , I put a code reader on and it had thrown a TCM and Torque converter code. Took it to a mechanic, they put their code reader on it and says the torque converter needs replacement. He reset the codes and said it was safe to drive until he can get it in to replace the converter . This morning, the truck wouldn’t start ( I noticed that the past few mornings the starter seemed to be weak) . Jump started it and took it to have battery tested. Battery was bad, so I replaced it. Truck seems to be shifting fine, and no more check engine light . Is it possible that the battery caused the computer to throw these codes?
