Does it throw any codes?
Sounds like a fuel problem, rent a tester from autozone and check the pressure using procedure in your haynes or chiltons manual. Since you just got home you should give it a tune up or atleast check the plugs, ohm test the wires, pull the dist cap and clean out corrosion, and throw a new fuel filter on. The hard starting is usual a fuel pressure regulator but it could be ignition system related. When your at autozone have them check your battery and alt on the truck too.
