Default 3.73 or 4.10

I have a 1996 K1500 Pickup with 3.42 gears and I want to upgrade to a 3.73 or 4.10, but I don't know which one would be better?

I plan on installing a 3 inch lift with a 305/70/16 or a 315/75/16 tire.

Can anybody help me?

Go with the 4.10's you will be pleased that you did. If your like me you don't want your truck to feel sluggish on take off those 4.10's will really help. If you are going to do any 4-wheeling look at a locker rear end like detroit's or whatever you prefer. A posi in the back really makes a world of difference and you will difinitely love it.

Yes it will when you increase your frontal area which will increase drag and the bigger tires are not going to help either. So performance is what you have to go for in this case. I don't think he is to worried about mileage because of what he wants to do to his truck.
