What's "standard?" My vehicle came with 410 gears "standard". I changed back to 342s for better highway mileage, and lower RPMs. 373s are supposed to be a great compromise gear for both power and mileage.

Your window sticker should have your differential size listed, if not, the dealer should be able to tell you. If you make the change, your speedometer and ABS sensors will give false readings until you have the PCM reprogrammed with your new gear size. Find out if your mechanic is aware of this before you have any work done.

A CAI may give you the power you need at about 1/6th of the cost of a new diff set, and no internal reprogramming.

A CAI will not help in this situation. The power gained from a CAI is high in the RPM range.
